Internationally acclaimed bassoonist Judith LeClair makes a point of visiting Carmel Valley every summer for a week of intensive musical study with rising bassoon stars at Hidden Valley's masters class series. She breaks away from her role as principal bassoonist at the New York Philharmonic—a chair she's held for 30 years—to play this solo performance. LeClair premiered "The Five Sacred" Trees, a concerto written for her by John Williams, and has performed under expert conductors including Kurt Masur and Andre Previn. [SR]
