The Monterey Bay Plein Air Painters Association is presenting the new art exhibit at the Pacific Grove Art Center. Plein Air art is created at the scene with direct observation of the landscape or environment. Erin Gafill and Tom Birmingham have taught children art for a six month period. The children's spontaneous art as well as photographs of children in the process will be on show. Cheryl Kampe will present her work on "Familiar Surroundings," a tour through the peninsula from her eyes, in the form of oil and pastel paintings. Sheila Delimont's respect and love for nature is apparent in her "Cloudscape" oil and pastel paintings. The First Saturday Figure Drawing Class has been held for every talent level for about 40 years. They will exhibit their work and also seek to encourage more to join the practice of portraying the human form. [SP]
