The Forest Theater Guild presents the classic Russian children's book turned production "Peter & the Wolf," featuring the music of Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev. The tale follows Peter, a young boy, who sets foot into a forest without permission from his grandfather. Once his ol' poppa finds out, he scolds his grandson: "Suppose a wolf came out of the forest?" In response, Peter says, ""Boys like me are not afraid of wolves." Soon after, a wolf appears and the tale unfolds. Pacific Grove's Keith Decker narrates the story, which is performed in song and dance by local talent including 11-year-old Alex Poletti as "Peter" and Reed Scott as the "Wolf." This production marks the first staged performance of "Peter & The Wolf" at the Outdoor Theater in addition to the premier performance of the production on the Monterey Peninsula. [CK]
