Richard Louv, author of "Last Child in the Woods" believes direct exposure to nature is essential for a child's healthy physical and emotional development. In connection, Monterey Bay area's chapter of Holistic Moms Network hosts a "how-to" about camping, backpacking, hiking and cooking. The event is open to all and welcomes children.
