Directed by Cindy Beitmen, the ensemble performs a concert of Renaissance and Baroque music from Latin America, or "New Spain." This music provided a basis for music composed and performed in the California missions. Beitmen describes a women's group performing music traditionally sung by men-in the Renaissance and Medieval periods-as an expression of the strength of women. Accompanying a plethora of composers, guest musicians play cornetto, trumpet, lute, archlute, violin, viola and viola da gamba. No advance ticket sales.
