Where the party at? During the Monterey Bay Blues Festival, it's at Planet Gemini, which is ditching its usual hip-hop lineup for four straight days of world-class blues musicians. If the sweet sounds of Blues at Eleven, American Idol semi-finalist Lisa Leuschner and Gemini's own house band (pictured) aren't enough to lure you in the door, they've also got musician meet-and-greets, barbecues, and drink specials to keep you happy til kingdom come. Best of all, the festivities are organized by Debra Schottgen, the former owner of the acclaimed Verve Blues Lounge in Santa Cruz, so you can expect an expertly curated lineup of longtime legends and buzz-worthy up-and-comers.
