Some of the finest jazz on the peninsula is played in the afternoon on the last Sunday of each month at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Regular attendees Lee Durley and David Morwood always come in hot with their uptempo chops, and an array of others will bring their instruments to play along and give listeners an auditory feast for the ear-hole. The music starts at 2pm and goes on for several hours in the Fireplace Lounge, where wine and cheese can be enjoyed by an inviting fire. This is top-notch jazz, and it's free, too. So instead of mowing the lawn Sunday afternoon, escape to a music experience normally reserved for larger jazz centers around the USA. [GS]
