After 41 years with his own music studio, Nick Williams is still producing some of the highest quality local jazz on the Peninsula, and he also has some comedic anecdotes or what he calls "backstage stories" to tell. Multi-instrumental and proficiently educated in classical and jazz music, Williams is debuting two new songs in addition to taking requests. In the middle of the evening, the audience is welcome to participate in the Latin Jam when about a dozen members are selected to back up the trio on percussion instruments. Things get interesting with the "backstage stories" Williams tells, taken from years of playing with big time musicians and celebrity personalities like Bing Crosby, Bob Hope, and Paul Simon. [NH]
