Author and Historian of the Pebble Beach Company will be the first speaker of the series, "Preserving the Past for Future Generations". His discussion will look at the transformation in the late 19th-century of this region into a tourist mecca, with an emphasis on connections between the Old Hotel Del Monte, America's first all-season resort hotel, and the Carmel Mission's restoration of the 1880's. Neal's abundance of knowledge along with the access to early documents and photography will delight fans of early Peninsula history.
