Transience at MPC Art Gallery

Transience: A state that passes with time. How time will fly by once the inventive mixed media work by two Bay Area artists, Nancy Coleman and Anneliese Vobis, hits the Monterey Peninsula College of Art. Coleman, a digital artist, bases her work on the earth's natural botanical forms, directly printing photographic collages on aluminum for shimmering results. Vobis bases her work on marine organisms while she only uses recycled material, like seaweed, wax and noodles for a three-dimensional effect. Together, their work celebrates nature in mixed media format. [CK]
