Ninety-four years old and the creativity of Olof Dahlstrand, the very accomplished San Francisco architect, still flows. Seven of his eight post-World War II Usonian-style houses still stand as icons of Bay Area architectural history. Dahlstrand is only one of a handful of architects to have his project documents on record at the UC Berkeley College of Environmental Design archives. His new artistic creations, "Landscapes of the Mind," in acrylic on linen take us on a more inward journey of the mind, with bold abstract experiments in color and composition. New works by printmakers Eleen Auvil, Alice Geller-Robertson, Susan Giacometti, Barbara Johnson and Pamela Takigawa will also be on display. The printmakers offer two other events in March, a printmaking demonstration and a panel discussion on printmaking and how it is created on paper.
Where: Carmel Art Association, Dolores Street, between 5th and 6th, Carmel.
When: Opening reception, March 5, 6-8pm; show runs March 3-April 5. Printmaking demonstration, March 12, 2-4:30pm; Panel discussion, March 23, 7pm. Free and no reservations necessary.
