Aye, a tale o' pirates ensues among an ensemble of 24 buccaneers, bobbies and maidens amid the rocky seashore of Cornwall. The New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players Production presents the comic operetta The Pirates of Penzance, boasting 28 musical numbers ranging from high soprano to deep bass. Among two acts, Frederic, a soon-to-be pirate plans to marry his elder nanny Ruth. But, once he stumbles upon Major General's youngest maiden daughter Mabel he madly falls for her instead. Lies and mad plots arise with a backdrop of powerful vocals and comedic moments the whole family can enjoy. [CK]
