Ping Pong Magazine Editor-in-Chief and this event's co-organizer, Maria Garcia Teutsch calls cinepoetry the place where "poetry and film converge." Tonight, there will be short films with poetry including Jennifer Hope Stein's "The Inventor's Last Breath" that will come before a screening of the 52-minute cinepoetry piece titled "Entanglement" by Anne Waldman, the founder of the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics at the Naropa Institute. In addition, there will be food, wine, a set of music by Songs That Hotbox Harry Taught Us and a live poetry reading by New York poet Christine Hamm. [ST]
7pm. Henry Miller Library, a quarter mile south of Nepenthe Restaurant on Highway 1, Big Sur. Free but donations accepted. 667-2574.
