Playwright Caryl Churchill’s work isn’t for the faint of heart–she’s willing to probe the dark depths of violence and dishonesty and imagination. Her newest play, A Number, asks some similarly tough questions about morality with a sci-fi twist and her signature playful touch. Here’s one that sparks the plot: What if you found out, 35 years after the fact, that you’d been cloned at age four, right before your dad put you up for adoption? PacRep’s artistic director Kenneth Kelleher presents Churchill’s provocative work with poise. [SR]
