These cats have been around since the early '60s, but they really blew up in the '70s with hit songs like the atmospheric "In the Rain," with its soul-drenched love lament decorated with ingenious instrumental punctuations, and the mid-tempo party jam "Whatcha See is Whatcha Get." You gotta see the Soul Train live performance of that number. On second thought, you gotta see them live at this all ages show. [WR]
