The title of this play sounds like a perfectly civil and polite evening to be had, right? Wrong. And that's a good thing. Because you know how Paper Wing rolls, and this play, a new one by Michael Matteo, is about man named Ed (Lj Brewer), his spurned fiancee Donna, and, well, Ed's penis (played by Jody Gilmore—what a resume addition). You see, his penis compels Ed to cheat on Donna with her cousin and now he must wrestle with the urges of his penis (fyi, the word "penis" has always sounded clinical, polite and provincial and sounds too much like "peanut" or "pee" but that's just me) in order to rebuild a meaningful relationship with Donna. The Paper Wing folks ponder "how can a tool that makes up 1/12 of a man's body control 100% of his life?" 1/12, Paper Wing? For a 150-pound man, that would comprise 12 pounds. Really? You can find Mr. Johnson in the tight confines of the Gallerie Theatre Space. [WR]
