This show seems to inspire compulsive devotion to its subversive, seamy, wild impulses: It must be speaking to people on a deep primal level. Paper Wing pulled it from its usual rotation last year, but here it is, back and freakier than ever, with Lj Brewer playing the part of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, a role it's said he's come to own. The good doctor takes gives shelter to innocent and storm-drenched couple Brad and (dammit!) Janet in his strange, sprawling mansion, but only to play with them, psychologically and sexually, while working on his ultimate creation, the artificially produced Adonis named Rocky. And they're joined by a whole mess of darkly clad friends and enemies. Not to mention some of the best campy tunes in the English language.
