The San Luis Obispo five-piece Briertone, plays a tasty gumbo made up of Allman Brothers' style southern rock and ripping bluegrass. The band calls its brand of music: "outlaw rock." Fittingly, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, and lap steel are implemented regularly. On October 14, Briertone celebrated the release of its most recent EP, Sky's Torn Open, featuring the dusty and acoustic "I am Jacob." Frontman Adam Pasion's bluesy strums recall Beck's guitar work on One Foot in the Grave. [AJ]
