"Do art, be kind," is the motto of the of the Youth Arts Collective and will be practiced by everyone at the second annual series of fund-raising parties. Hosted at the homes of artists and collectors, the events combine fantastic food, memorable art and dynamic people. The five events kick off with a wild and wacky tea party in the wonderland garden of Wolfgang and Kathleen Baer in Carmel Valley (Sat. July 30, 2:30-4:30pm, 20 guests). Art collectors Charly and Susie Franklin will host the next party where guests are invited to dance under the moonlight to live music and view their expansive art collection (Sat. Aug. 13, 6pm). The home of fine-art quilter and owner of a small family winery Bill and Mary Parsons will present a New England style lobster feed on their deck overlooking their grapevines (Sat. Sept. 10, 5pm, 20 guests). The luncheon at the extraordinary, hand-built home of the late Emile Norman will showcase Emile's talent in every detail of the house during the tour of the unique property (Sun. Oct. 2, 1pm, 20 guests). The River Ranch in Carmel Valley was built in the 1920s and remains unchanged. Guests are invited to come as a famous artist, writer, musician or work of art for this final event (Sun. Oct. 15, 5pm, 30 guests).
