Fleet Foxes' 2008 self-titled debut was one of the year's best albums. The Seattle outfit's 2011 follow-up, Helplessness Blues, is arguably one of this year's best releases thus far. Fittingly, frontman Robin Pecknold has said on numerous occasions that many of the songs on the LP were inspired by trips to Big Sur and even penned some of the title track during one visit. Openers, The Walkmen, have been garnering great reviews across the board for their most recent release, Lisbon. The New York-based band mixes elements of vintage New York City sound and punchy rock and roll. [AJ]
