If you've ever laughed or not laughed at a politically incorrect gaffe—which is to say, everyone—Body Awareness is a play worth seeing, if only for its moments of charming comedic relief. A feminist college professor and her partner are trying to encourage their 21-year-old son to self-diagnose himself with Asperger's Syndrome amidst his obsessions with studying the dictionary and watching video porn, as the college's Body Awareness Week approaches. This is the backdrop when a photographer enters the scene, staying with the family as a guest artist. His specialty: female nudes. Carmel Bay Players and director Conrad Selvig bring lightness and compassion to this Obie Award-winning play. [SR]
