Barbara Morrison Benefit Party Jam at Sly McFly's

Those who attended Seaside's Sunday Blues in the Park concert on July 10 know that Barbara Morrison, who's performed with Ray Charles Band and the Doc Severinson Band, did not perform as scheduled. Some may know that the reason was due to a medical emergency. Turns out, she had a diabetic reaction, which has cost her amputation of one of her legs. Ever a trooper, she insists that any money raised for her support go 50/50 to the Monterey Bay Blues Festival Blues in the Schools program. Musicians are rallying, including Sista Monica, Avlon, Tammi Brown, Blues at Eleven, Lee Durley and others, in an open jam in which musicians can join by RSVPing jamesmcdowell422@yahoo.com, or just drop in and fall into the groove of the joint. Big ups to that. (See story, p. XX.) [WR]
