Victoria Lucido was born in Del Reys Oaks in 1957, according to her husband Frank. But those fixed facts only begin to tell the story that Vickie, in this one-woman play that she wrote, directed and stars in, will reveal about her life from childhood, to teen, to adult and where we find her now, a dramatist and teacher, parentless and wiser, and ready to share the details and depths of her well-examined years. This is her life, told in the guise of fictional friends, relatives and even an off-off-Broadway wannabe lounge singer. The Lucidos debuted the 75-minute show at the Paul Gleason Theater in Hollywood last summer, and this version is honed from the audience feedback there, with the joy, humor and sadness paired down to what sounds like will be an emotional and honest piece of theater. It's probably just a coincidence that Oprah, who was born in 1954, took a similar long reflective look at the past, but the timing is uncanny. Pretty plays for two nights only and proceed benefits the Hamilton Shelter in Seaside. [WR]
