There's nothing like a little bloodshed to spice up a good ol' musical. In this play-within-a-play, there's the usual insight into intense rehearsals and romantic dramas among cast members—and a murder mystery to boot. That sets the stage for a police investigator/musical theater aficionado to investigate a zany cast, as well as offer tips to the producers on improving their flailing show. The layered stories make for a backstage murder mystery musical comedy, with a detective singing all the way. [SR]
