Unlike Jada Pinkett Smith's metal band Wicked Wisdom and Keanu Reeves' Dogstar, actor Kevin Bacon's band The Bacon Brothers are taken seriously by music fans and radio stations. Having been around for 16 years, The Bacon Brothers—Kevin with his film and TV music composer brother Michael—have released an impressive six albums. The title track of their 2009 album of the same name, "New Year's Day" is lightly scuffed pop rock with dashes of blues and soul. [ST]
