Alan Simpson and Robert Reich Talk Economics at the Panetta Institute Lecture Series

Perhaps the only thing more outstanding than the resumes of Robert Reich and Alan Simpson is when the two are on stage together. The 6 foot 7inch Simpson markedly juxtaposes Reich's 4 foot 10 inch frame. Their paring is playfully referred to as "The Long and Short of It." -- which is exactly what we'll get when they visit the area to talk about the state of the economy as part of the 15th annual Panetta Institute Lecture Series. Reich is a professor of public policy at UC Berkeley, author, presidential advisor, and former US Secretary of Labor. Simpson is an erstwhile U.S. Senator and co-chair of the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform. Come expecting a heady discussion on money, politics and the US role in the world economy. Expect to leave all the wiser. Financial industry expert and national news contributor Ron Insana will moderate. The lecture will also broadcast on several television stations. [JAF]
