Formerly called the Monterey County Home Show, this convergence of building contractors, remodeling companies, painters, landscapers and home product specialists has been meeting yearly for more than 20 years. But this year there are some fresh upgrades, most visibly the addition of a "gourmet" component with local wineries and specialty food shops, and most famously with the apprearance and talk by star host and designer coordinator of HGTV's Design on a Dime and STYLE Network's Tacky House. On Saturday she talks affordable kitchen and bathroom remodeling at noon, and the "building blocks of design" at 2pm. [WR]
