Western Stage's young theater troupe, 2x4BASH, is back for its second season. Last year, they jumped out the gate with a fast and furious concentrated season of four acclaimed plays aimed at younger audiences, and it was a hoot. This season, they lead with The Chalk Boy by Joshua Conkel about four girls in the small town of Clear Creek who deal with sex, the occult, algebra and the disapperance of "the chalk boy," in a dark high school comedy that doesn't flinch at, but also doesn't shortchang, the inner lives of teenagers.
