“I'm not Beethoven,” Jerry Garcia once exclaimed. While that may be true, the Grateful Dead's late great frontman was one of the most dynamic musicians/composers to ever play rock music. He was also one of the most humble. To celebrate—what would have been Garcia's 70th birthday on August 1—Jenn Schaaf (drums), Corey Watkins (keys/sax), Heath Proskin (bass), Ben Herod (sax/flute) and Dave Holodiloff (guitar/vocals) will keep his spirit alive through some of his greatest tunes songs including "Shakedown Street" and "Eyes of the World."
