Monterey National Horse Show at Monterey County Fairgrounds

Cattle driving at 9am plus jackpot roping interspersed with a pancake breakfast and BBQs all add up to one thing; the Monterey National Horse Show. This four day event, taking place at the Monterey County Fairgrounds,is loaded with the whole spectrum of horse show events including; roping, crowning of Miss National Horse show and a 4-H horse show. Fun things that don’t involve horses include; live music, dancing, BBQs, and the Heritage Foundation Golf Tournament ($140 per ticket). Most of the horse show events are free but the food centered events range in price from $5-$20 per person. This event is country western at its finest; watch talented horsemanship followed by dancing and singing.[KS]
