Meyers Manx at Museum of Monterey

On loan from Bruce Meyers, the creator of the Manx, “Old Red” a 1967 Meyers Manx dune buggy will be on display from August 15-19. The Californian engineer, boat builder and surfer created the iconic dune buggy, affixing its characteristic fiberglass shell over a Volkswagen beetle frame and engine. It continues to be built in California today, and has been popularized by its appearances in Elvis movies to the Thomas Crown Affair. (See cover story).
