Who says Seasiders and Sand Citians have to venture out to Monterey or Salinas? The neighboring cities-by-the-sea form a self-sustaining bubble of shops and services that'll let you check off that to-do list close to home. (Restaurants like Fishwife, events like The Independent Marketplace and big-boxes like Costco will bring your out-of-city pals this way, too.) At this afternoon event, the Seaside-Sand City Chamber of Commerce highlights around 50 local businesses and community organizations, including the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County, Carmel Monterey Travel Agency, 90.3 KAZU and Doctors on Duty.
