For Jill Childers of Cheeky Spanks, the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy hit very close to home, even though she lives on the opposite coast: Her sister Betsy lived in Mississippi when Katrina hit and ended up dying from a disease related to the contaminated drinking water. So when Sandy let loose on the East Coast, the singer felt obligated to do something. Along with Cheeky Spanks, Bryan Diamond, Jaqui Hope, Lark Simmons, Rollin & Tumblin and Lorelei & The Groovehounds will perform. Magician Dale Mulhern will also be on hand to make stuff disappear. Representatives from The Red Cross and Brooklyn Neighbors in Need will be collecting donations than will all go to Sandy victims. [AJ]
