In Conversation: Annette Corcoran at MMA Pacific

The museum's In Conversation features Monterey Now artists Annette Corcoran for a discussion on her ceramic sculptures inspired by Africa and Ancient America. The arist's Peruvian series, based on the vessels of the pre-Columbian Moche society, recreates traditional forms and motifs not seen for over fifteen hundred years, from the culture known for rich iconography, elaborately painted ceramics, and meticulous gold work in addition to monumental construction. Corcoran's teapots evoke the ancient earthen works, adorned with birds from throughout the world.
3pm. MMA Pacific Street, 559 Pacific St., Monterey. Free with admission. 372-5477. www.montereyart.org.
