Second Annual Cruz McDowell Hemophilia Fundraiser at Sly McFly's

Sly McFly's bartender and music booker Jimmy McDowell's son, Cruz, was born last year with hemophilia, for which there is no cure. This party for the cause marshalls live music, food, drinks, super drawings and silent auction, and holiday surprises to raise money for the Central California Hemophilia Foundation for Research to help make a difference in Cruz's life as well as others similarly affected. There is also a toy drive for brand new toys for the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital and for emergency response vehicles for children coping with trauma. It's a worthy event, following the previous night's big benefit for Hurricane Sandy, and shows the heart withing the heart of Cannery Row's livest music venue. [WR]
