Pacific Grove is home to a host of holiday events in the coming weeks that sprinkles holiday magic atop participants. First up is the 19th Annual Sillwell's Fun in the Park 10am-4pm Sat), the park being Tommy Stillwell Court (behind the post office), where Santa and Mrs. Claus will appear on a fire truck, a horse and buggy takes folks on a lap around the park, and where Frosty the Snowman and the Snow Queen frolic in the vicinity of a petting zoo full of squeezable creatures. At 5:30pm Monday, at Jewell Park, the Christmas Tree Lighting will light up the chilling dusk and school bands and choruses and carolers will set the atmosphere ringing with holiday music (and Santa will again return); it's followed by Santa's Party (an afterparty, I presume) at Chautauqua Hall until 7:30pm. On Tuesday and Wednesday, 6-9pm each day, the 28th Annual Christmas at the Inns opens the doors to 10 preserved inns (about half each day, $20/day) and, new this year, in time for its centennial, Asilomar Conference Grounds' Phoebe Hearst Social Hall, all appointed with Christmas decorations.
