There's no place on the planet like it, and few among Monterey County who aren't proud to call it part of our home. Once each year, it's even more ours than normal, as the Aquarium swings open its doors to locals, wrapping them in a big, educational, otter-fuzz, sharkskin, octopus-tentacle, rockfish-fin hug. In other words, everyone who can demonstrate a Monterey zip code by way of an ID or other bill gets in free from Dec. 1-9. [MCA]
