"Becoming Visible: the Face of Homeless Women in Monterey County," is a month-long art installment that uses video, still photography and narratives to explore the multi-faceted issues surrounding the female homeless population on a local level. This special afternoon benefit brings longtime local favorites Alisa Fineman and Kimball Hurd to perform their original brand of airy folk music. Additionally, Heartstrings—Laura Burian on violin, Paulette Lynch on hammered dulcimer and percussion, Pat Skinner on mandolin, mandola and accordion, and Marj Ingram Viales on guitar—another known musical entity in Monterey County, will be on hand to deliver its infectious fusion of folk and traditional music. 3pm. Carl Cherry Center, 4th and Guadalupe St., Carmel. Donations accepted. 624-7491.
