On the last Saturday of 2012, the East Village Coffee Lounge gets nostalgic with three bands: The Mystery Lights, The People, and the Tomb Weavers. This is an all ages show, and for a paltry $8 attendees will be introduced to the Tomb Weavers, a brand new band on the scene that specializes in psychedelic 60s garage rock. Salinas rockers, The Mystery Lights, illuminate the stage with their high energy presence and retro sounds heavy on guitar riffs. The People also return to the stage to mesmerize with sounds from a bygone era that'll have you thinking about the days of Hunter S. Thompson, bellbottoms, and power to the people. Show starts at 9pm and space in the lounge is limited to arrive early. [GS]
9pm Sat. East Village Coffee Lounge, 498 Washington St., Monterey. $8/all ages. 373-5601. www.eastvillagecoffeelounge.com

We will have Soda Gardocki joining us for the night! Review on Soda Gardocki: "Tom "Soda" Gardocki spent years playing guitar in SoCal rockers Wax (go rewatch the credits of Mallrats; the band plays right after its pals Weezer) but more recently he's devoted himself to more rustic purposes.
Either performing with his Large Band, his "Million Piece Band," or solo with his 12-string banjo (like on the The South Congress Session bootleg, recently released by Hillgrass Bluebilly Records), Soda's twangy voice hints ever-so-slightly at his punk past".... - read full review here http://blogs.phoenixnewtimes.com/uponsun/2011/12/tom_soda_gardocki_on_spike_jon.php
