The MCOE's Media Center for Art and Education Technology broadcasts a diverse line-up of Friday TV programs for Black History Month that goes into divergent but deep stories. Soul Music by the Bay 2010 is performance showcase recorded live in Oakland, featuring Leanne Robinson, Blayze, Big Brooklyn Red, Traffik Noize and others (it's airing multiple times and days; call for details). Voices and Visions: Langston Hughes is a documentary about the Harlem Renaissance author and poet (2pm and 8pm Thu Feb. 2). Local Legends: Helen Rucker interviews the longtime local activist (1pm and 7pm Fri Feb. 10). Arts in the Schools: African American Artists of Monterey County spotlights honor students (1pm and 7pm Fri Feb. 17). And The Seaside Cultural Arts Group Presents a Tribute to Black History Month is a 90-minute revist of last year's Seaside event (1pm and 7pm Fri Feb. 24).
