An Imperial Pint of Pinter at Carl Cherry Center

Performers picked a perfect place for performing Harold Pinter. The Actors' Collective kicks off a month-long celebration of the inimitable playwright's work with this weekend's Pinter Primer, comprised of staged readings of two short plays. The Dumb Waiter, one of Pinter's best-known works, explores themes of class, trust and betrayal that can only be experienced by two hit men with a long professional relationship. Same goes for The Lover, but think "married couple" instead of "hit men." Next weekend, a fully staged production of Pinter's Old Times opens. [SR]

7:30pm Fri and Sat. Carl Cherry Center, Fourth and Guadalpue, Carmel. $10 suggested donation. 578-6356, www.carlcherrycenter.org.
