The Nightmare Before Christmas at Monterey High School

The Monterey High Players will perform a live stage version of the Tim Burton 1993 film, "The Nightmare Before Christmas." Directed by Anjoli Johnson, this cult classic tells the story of Jack Skellington, the pumpkin king of Halloween Town, who's become disenchanted with his yearly routine and royal duties. One night Jack wanders off into the woods and discovers a circle of magical trees, each representing a different holiday. Jack stumbles into Christmas Town and becomes so taken with the idea that he recruits the resident bats, ghouls, and goblins to help him put on Christmas instead of Halloween. Tickets can be purchased at the Monterey High Box Office.

7:30pm Fri-Sat; 2pm Sun. Monterey High Theater, 101 Herrmann Dr., Monterey. $10/adult; $7/senior, $5/student. 277-8658, www.montereyhighdrama.com.
