An innovator of jazz poetry, Langston Hughes never got to do a full performance of his 12 part epic poem and jazz piece "Ask Your Mama" before he passed away in 1967. Jazz musician and scholar Ron McCurdy is remedying that with this multimedia show that includes jazz and poetry along with a video element that shows the work of visual art from Hughes' contemporaries.
