KQED airs two of the films of its Black Power Film Festival: The Black Power Mixtape 1967-1975 and The Interrupters. Mixtape, via Independent Lens, is a 1970s Swedish documentary on the burgeoning black power movement, cut with interviews with Stokely Carmichael, Eldrige Cleaver and Angela Davis. The Interrupters, presented by Frontline, is a powerful documentary from the director of Hoop Dreams about older former gang leaders trying to "interrupt" tragic gang violence in Chicago.
