Playful objects-cum-art just got started with Marcel Duchamp's 1917 "Fountain," and it's in that perspective-altering tradition that artist Vita Wells presents the exhibit The Stories We Live By. Constructing and deconstructing our relationship with ordinary things, Wells' mixed media installations create newfound associations with books, egg cartons, hay bales and balls of twine. Wells' works extracts the fascinating interplay of artistic process, philosophy, science and pop culture found in the rudimentary manufacturing processes that make our world work. [SR]
