Pan-Hellenic Council and the City of Seaside present this event, which begins with a march through Seaside and concludes with a program at the Oldemeyer Center. Speakers Carmelita Pope Freeman and David Anthony Johnson take the stage to honor the inspiring leader. Both are certainly qualified to do so; Freeman is the Special Advisor to the National Deputy Director of the U.S. Justice as well as a personal empowerment consultant, and Johnson is a motivational speaker/musician who has shared the stage with and performed for legends like Rosa Parks and Maya Angelou. Those looking to join in on the march should make sure to show up at the Monterey County Social Service Center by 11 am. [SO]
