After a short-lived scare thanks to the Monterey County Planning Department that threatened to shut down Kiki Wow’s Carmel Valley music scene, the show must go on. And rightfully so, as the cancellation of this vocal group out of L.A. would have been a travesty. The talents of Brett Perkins, David Zink and Mark Davis are at first exhibited individually and as their show progresses, the harmonious puzzle that is the trio as a whole—some liken them to Counting Crows, others Crosby, Stills and Nash—comes into view. More accolades? OK. Their album You Came Screaming was voted Orange County’s “Album of the Decade” by the Los Angeles Times. Yeah, that pretty much sums it up. [JE]
