First Night Monterey is one of the grandest and most cultured celebrations our county sees. This art show demonstrates why: Because the 19-year old nonprofit invites everybody to the party. For this exhibit, up through Jan. 27 with an artists' reception on 5-7pm on Dec. 9, FNM opens the door to work from Art is the Next Peace: Connecting Communities, a collaboration with the Arts Council for Monterey County; Mi Vida-My Life, collage works on "place and home" from middle and high school students; Greenfield Valley of the Arts Viva! Greenfield music poster contest; and FNM's Summer Art Camp. See the work now. Then see (and talk to) the artists Dec. 9.
