This is the Henry Miller Library at its most diverse and multi-cultural. For the seventh year the library crew is screening four to five short films from around the world every Thursday this summer. Films ranging from comic to artistic and provocative to skin-crawling are are on tap. The outdoor setting doesn't get much better where under a star-filled sky surrounded by redwoods the films are shown on a cinema quality big screen in HD. Each film is uncensored and screened as the filmmaker intended. The series concludes at the end of August with a Gala Finale that showcases winning films chosen by a jury including Philip Glass and Kirsten Dunst. Though Dunst and Glass will not be in attendance every Thursday, what some call the "world's best popcorn" will be for a donation. To attend, a donation of any size is also appreciate. [GS]
