Browne is not only the brother of singer-songwriter legend Jackson Browne, but he was also the first white folk/country artist signed to the Motown label in the 1970s, on the invite from Barry Gordy himself. He made two records for Motown, then quit the business for 20 years, recording again in 1995, then again in 2001. He's honed his songcraft during that time and comes to the New Plaza Linda—thank goodness Kiki Wow's now-roving musical evenings haven't been totally shut down, lest the valley fall into musical entertainment vacuum—with a new CD, Lucky Man.
7-9pm. New Plaza Linda, 27 E. Carmel Valley Road, Carmel Valley. $10 donation. 235-7662, kikiwow@mac.com.
